El-shafei story

When El-Shafei turned eighteen, his heart was full of dreams, and his bags were packed with ambition. The road from his small village in Egypt to the streets of Amman, the capital of Jordan, wasn’t easy, but he made the decision and left—determined to build his future with his own hands, not wait for it to come by chance.

He traveled to study Information Technology, fully aware that no one would pay his tuition. So from the moment he stepped foot in Jordan, he began to work by day and study by night. His first job was as a steel fixer—a harsh and heavy job, surrounded by metal, heat, and sweat. Yet he never complained. He was building walls with his hands and building dreams in his heart.

Months passed, and as he got to know students from different countries, new doors began to open. He came up with an idea—to become an agent helping Egyptian students travel to Jordan and enroll in universities. It wasn’t a simple venture, but he started small and worked with honesty.

Soon, the business grew. His name became known among students. He helped dozens enroll in Jordanian universities and saw each successful case as another brick in his rising tower. Money began to flow, and trust came with it.

But things didn’t go as planned.

As his work expanded, he started losing control. Requests multiplied, responsibilities became scattered, and he began facing unexpected financial losses. Some students backed out, some deals failed, and debts started piling up. He tried to hold on, but the wheel was spinning faster than he could manage. Eventually, he shut the business down, losing everything he had built.

He returned to his small rented room, exhausted—not with money in hand, but with debts, regretful messages, and a disappointed look in the mirror. Yet even in loss, he didn’t lose the one thing he came with: determination.

He sat with himself, retraced his steps, studied his mistakes. He wasn’t foolish—just a young man who learned early what many never do. Now, at twenty years old, he is no longer the same boy. He is wiser, more patient, and brave enough to start again—but in a different way.

He discovered the world of online freelancing. He started learning design, programming, and digital marketing. He decided to sharpen his skills and offer his services through freelancing platforms. No more chasing quick profits—he’s now focused on long-term growth. His goal is no longer just earning money, but also paying off his debts, rebuilding his reputation, and most importantly, regaining his self-trust.

El-Shafei did not fail. He simply learned, early on, what others might only face after years. Now his eyes carry a new light—different from the day he first stepped into Jordan. These aren’t just dreams anymore; they are measured steps and real plans.

And every night, when he closes his laptop after a long day of work, he smiles and whispers to himself:

“This time… I’ll succeed—on my own terms.”
